Computerized strand lifting System
When heavy loads must be lifted to heights exceeding the capacity of standard jacks—such as raising bridge segments from the ground to be installed on piers at a height of 20 meters—strand jacks are commonly employed for this purpose.
Strand jacks are specialized hydraulic jacks featuring a top and bottom wedge system designed to grip multiple strand wires. By precisely controlling the sequence of locking and releasing the wedged strands in coordination with the hydraulic jack’s operation, loads attached to the lower end of the strands can be lifted to the desired height, determined by the length of the strand wires used.
Proper operation of strand jacks is critical, especially regarding the control sequence of the chucking mechanism within the wedging system and the lifting jack. Incorrect sequences can lead to the unintended release of strand wires, potentially causing a runaway load or strand breakage.
The YIPU Hydraulic’s Computerized Strand Lifting System employs a computer controller to coordinate multiple strand jacks, ensuring they operate in the correct sequence with essential interlocks. The system also synchronizes the movement of multiple jacks to maintain the lifting level of the raised object. Load, weight, and center of gravity readings are continuously monitored and displayed on the control screen.
All operational statuses—including wedge status, lifted height, operational state, weight readings at each jacking point, and the total lifting load—are shown on the screen. A screenshot can be captured at any time during the operation to record data for further analysis.
