Synchronised Bridge Lifting In Korea

Project Overview :

A leading civil engineering company in Korea, specializing in bridge construction and upgrades, undertook a project to lift a bridge to increase its clearance. Traditionally, this process relied on manual operation of multiple jacks at various lifting points, which was labor-intensive, time-consuming, and prone to safety risks due to human error. A single lift typically took 2 to 3 weeks to complete.

By implementing a computerized synchronized lifting system, productivity was significantly enhanced, reducing the lifting operation to just 2 days. More critically, safety was vastly improved with synchronized lifting accuracy within 1 mm. The system also enabled real-time monitoring of weight and center of gravity, allowing precise control and oversight throughout the lifting process.

System consisted

1. 34 jacks with 100-ton capacity

2. 2 hydraulic power packs (7.5 kW each)

4. 34 height sensors and pressure transducers
