Heavy Duty Generator Installation in Philippines

Project Overview :

In the Philippines, a transportation contractor specializing in the installation of large and heavy equipment faced the challenge of lowering a 200-ton diesel generator from its installation base, situated 6 meters above ground level, and transporting it out of a power plant.

Engineering Challenges

The safe lowering of heavy equipment, such as a 200-ton generator, requires precise synchronization of multiple heavy-duty hydraulic jacks to ensure stability and prevent damage. Achieving this level of control manually is impractical, making a computerized synchronous lifting system essential for accuracy, reliability, and safety.

Our Solution

The YIPU Computerized Synchronous Lifting System (Synchlit) was employed to ensure the safe and efficient lowering of the generator. This system synchronizes the movement of four 100-ton capacity jacks, maintaining a control tolerance of ±1 mm between lifting points. The precise coordination provided by the system guarantees a stable and secure lowering process, enhancing both safety and operational efficiency.

System consisted

1. 6 sets of 100-ton stage lift units

2. 1 hydraulic power pack

3. 1 YIPU computerized synchronous lifting controller
