Hangshen bridge improvement lifting and widening in China

Project Overview :

The Hangshen Bridge, located on the C60 highway in China, is undergoing a lifting and widening initiative to enhance the highway’s capacity and accommodate increased traffic demands.

Technical Background :

High-pressure, high-tonnage hydraulic jacks paired with computerized control systems are commonly employed in bridge maintenance tasks, such as bearing and pier replacements.

As bridge structures grow in length and weight, these operations have become increasingly complex, with system safety emerging as a critical concern. Hydraulic leakage in high-pressure lifting systems poses a significant risk, potentially causing severe damage to the lifted structure and endangering human lives.

Our solution:

YIPU Hydraulic has developed an innovative load follower system, integrated with our advanced computerized synchronous lifting technology, to serve as a mechanical safety support in the event of hydraulic failure in the lifting jacks.

The load follower operates by maintaining synchronization with the lifting jacks, remaining in light contact with the lifted load during the lifting process.

In the event of a hydraulic failure, the load follower locks into place, transferring the load from the lifting jack to itself, securely holding the structure in position to prevent damage or collapse.

System consisted

1. 120 load followers with capacities of 200 tons and 400 tons

2. 10 sets of high-pressure hydraulic power packs

3. 60 YIPU high-tonnage lifting jacks
