Bullfighting Arena Roof Opening System in Chongdo South Korea
Project Overview :
The bullfighting arena in Chongdo, South Korea, features a circular steel structure roof clad with a PTFE membrane. At its center, a 30-meter diameter opening facilitates ventilation to mitigate animal odors, with the ability to be opened or closed as required.
Our Solution
The opening is covered by two symmetrical 20-ton sections that move in tandem to open or close the aperture.
YIPU designed and delivered a sophisticated electrically operated rack-and-pinion drive system, managed from a central control room, to precisely control the movement of these roof sections.
