3D Intelligent Shipway Transport System at Jiangnan Shipyard China

Project Overview :

Flatland shipbuilding technology has become a cornerstone of modern ship construction, adopted by major shipyards in China and globally. As ships grow increasingly large, modular construction has emerged as a key strategy to reduce build times and boost productivity. In this approach, ships are built in large modules that are subsequently transported, aligned, and joined together.

Engineering Challenges

The transportation and precise positioning of these heavy modules present significant challenges. Each module must be lifted, moved, rotated, and accurately positioned before welding, requiring a system that ensures both efficiency and precision.

Our Solution

YIPU Hydraulic‘s 3D Intelligent Shipway Transport System, designed for Jiangnan Shipyard, integrates advanced intelligent control technology with a sophisticated hydraulic system, frequency converter drives, high-tonnage jacks, and a two-axle sliding mechanism. The system comprises trolleys equipped with drive units, lifting mechanisms, side adjustment mechanisms, hydraulic power packs, and local control units.

All trolleys are interconnected via internet cables to a centralized controller, enabling seamless operation. From the controller, operators can transport modules from one point to another and position them with exceptional precision, minimizing manpower while maximizing accuracy.
